You should be able to perform to a reasonable standard. Some basic computer skills and access to a computer are essential. You will need to follow written and verbal instructions in English and engage in class discussions.
Explanations and demonstrations by the tutor will alternate with performances by the students which will be recorded. Your comments and observations form an integral part of the course. You should spend time listening to and editing your recording during classes as well as practising and refining your own performance with a view to achieving a better recording.
Bring some blank CDs for your recording. A piano is provided, otherwise bring your own instrument as well as some notepaper. For editing we will use Audacity which is a free program available on the internet.
No.
You will receive regular feedback from your tutor throughout the course, as and when appropriate. At the end of the course you and your tutor are asked to assess the progress you have made.
Please complete the evaluation form at the end of your course. These are monitored and help us to continually improve our courses.
