To acquire the skills necessary to sing unaccompanied in a small group. These include aural awareness, singing in tune, timing, vocal tone, music reading, musical memory and performance presentation.
We will learn unaccompanied vocal pieces from a wide range of styles - pop, folk, classical, gospel and jazz - in up to four parts. This will be supported by warm ups, aural awareness, exercises and improvisations.

You must be able to sing in tune, have experience of singing in a group and have basic knowledge of musicianship skills. You need a good ear and to be keen to perform in a team and learn arrangements. A good sense of time is a great advantage. You will need to follow written and verbal instructions in English and engage in class discussions.

You will receive regular feedback from your tutor throughout the course, as and when appropriate. At the end of the course you and your tutor are asked to assess the progress you have made.
