A very enjoyable course, which was taught by a brilliant tutor that covered all the basics of photography that I needed in order to confidently go out and take good photographs. Also the course was well organised and City Lit provided individuals with very good equipment if they needed it.

A really good course overall - fantastic for total beginners or even those who have a little experience and know how.

There was lots of practical time to back up the theory learned in class.

As someone who struggles to show their work to others I found a supportive environment and it was easy to show my work and get feedback which of course has made me a better photographer.

I still have lots to learn and practice but this course was a very good start and i think my photos are already showing real improvement.

Would highly recommend.

I found the course extremely useful as a beginner. Tutor was patient and took great care that we understood it all.
However, perhaps a little too much time spent on reviewing class photos. Would have liked to have known something about HISTOGRAM as I am told it is v important to photography. It was'nt touched upon. Overall, a fantastic course. Thank you.

The course covered everything a beginner (or knowledgeable beginner) would need to start taking very good photographs.

There was good technical content on how to use a modern ditigal camera and fantastic advice on how to compose pictures.

The course was so good that I immediately signed up for 2 further courses

I really enjoyed this course, but I would advise applicants to have some basic knowledge about photography in general such as aperture, shutter speed, white balance etc. as time is quite limited to go through all the basics. I think there could be a bit more one to one practical teaching and a bit less "going through the homework" session as it took far to much of our time. We could have just handed in our homework images and received evaluation from the teacher.
Overall I would recommend this course, the teacher is very laid back and knowledgeable. I think the structure of the lessons needs a bit improvement though.

I enjoyed this photography course as the tutor was very knowledgeable and laid-back, plus it was an opportunity to meet a very nice group of people.

I learnt how to use the manual settings on my camera, and we had plenty of opportunity to test out our new-found knowledge.

I was disappointed that we didn't do much on composition, as I would have found that very helpful being a beginner.

Mainly though, I enjoyed the course, and would recommend.
