By the end of this course you should be able to:

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

This is an introductory class. Students should be computer literate at a basic level and have an interest in using photography as an income source. Please note that you will be using Apple Macs, not PCs, although all the software used on this course is cross platform. If you have never used a computer before, you might find our course ‘An introduction to Apple computers’ that run each term.

You should be able to follow simple written and verbal instructions to support demonstrations, hand-outs and for health and safety information, and will be invited to take part in group discussion. You should be able to use numbers and be able to do simple measurements and calculations.

Please look at the rest of the course outline carefully to decide if you may benefit from support in your English and Maths skills to help you to take part fully in this class.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

Through a structured day of lectures, demonstrations, practical exercises and work based discussions. A computer projector is used for presentations and viewing of data and images. Each student will have their own computer to work on. You will be referred to websites and given practical demonstrations that you can practice on when the lesson is completed.
