I found this a very challenging course. The subject is massive in its scope and importance, very interesting but extemely "slippery". If you are looking for THE unified theory of photograhy, forget it. What you will get is a fascinating introduction to a wide variety of thinkers who have considered photography from diverse angles. The course was very well taught which was vital since it seemed to me most of the attendees were new to the subject and so like myself were not immediatly able to bring a huge amount of personal insight to the classes. Not a problem for me as I am as happy to be lectured as to have lots of class participation.
Advice - why not read/dip into Susan Sontag's "On Photography". It's brilliant and also relatively accessable. If it excites you then this could be the course for you.
