You will explore ways of photographing London’s busy markets, and use photography as a way to look at London in a fresh light and learn about photographing the people, produce and architecture; and also develop techniques suitable for photographing the city and its inhabitants.
Photographic terminology and technique, street and market photography of people, places and produce.
- An increased knowledge of East London markets, the people who work in them and the produce sold.
- Have developed methods and techniques, which make more effective photos.
- Have learnt and used appropriate practical photographic techniques to produce a set of photographs that show the character of the places visited.
- A better understanding of the technical and creative challenges found when photographing London markets.
A basic knowledge of the camera is essential for this course. Bring a digital camera which has automatic and manual settings if possible.
You should be able to follow simple written and verbal instructions to support demonstrations, hand-outs and for health and safety information, and will be invited to take part in group discussion. You should be able to use numbers and be able to do simple measurements and calculations.
