You will explore ways of photographing the many facets of London’s South Bank… from Shakespeare’s Globe to the London Eye. Through photography you will look at this vibrant and ever changing area of London in a new light - its people, its buildings and open spaces, developing techniques to record the urban environment.
Composition, reportage, street portraiture and the use of camera controls to maximum effect.
- Better understand the technical and creative challenges found when photographing an urban
environment.
- Enhance your visual awareness.
- Have developed methods and techniques, which help make more effective photographs.
- Have learnt and used appropriate practical photographic techniques to produce a set of photographs that.
A basic knowledge of the camera is essential for this course. Bring a camera which has manual or semi automatic settings, either film or digital. And three photographs that interest you to discuss.
You should be able to follow simple written and verbal instructions to support demonstrations, hand-outs and for health and safety information, and will be invited to take part in group discussion. You should be able to use numbers and be able to do simple measurements and calculations.
