This is not a beginner’s class; you need to have knowledge of the semi automatic and manual metering functions of your cameras. You also need to be computer literate at a basic level and, please note that, you will be using Apple Macs, not PCs, although all the software used on this course is cross platform.
You should be able to follow simple written and verbal instructions, demonstrations, hand-outs and health and safety information, and will be invited to take part in group discussion. You should be able to use numbers and be able to do simple measurements and calculations.
Please look at the rest of the course outline carefully to decide if you may benefit from support in your English and Maths skills to help you to take part fully in this class.
Through a structured programme of lectures, demonstrations, practical exercises, image based discussions and individual assistance. The Photography Studio uses a computer projector for presentations and viewing of images. Each student will have their own workstation. You may wish to revisit the practical exercises in your own time to expand upon them.
You may wish to bring some of your images on a CD or memory stick for discussion, a digital camera, flash gun and tripods if you have them (City Lit has this equipment which you may borrow during the lessons) and you may want to take notes.
No.
You will receive regular feedback from your tutor throughout the course, as and when appropriate. At the end of the course you and your tutor are asked to assess the progress you have made.
Please complete the evaluation form at the end of your course. These are monitored and help us to continually improve our courses.
