You will be introduced to a range of mindfulness practices, and have time to consider personal and clinical applications. This course is aimed at counsellors, other helping professionals and trainees.

This course has grown out of a recognition that there is a surge of interest in midfulness based approaches.
It will give therapists and counsellors a taste of what is involved in this approach both experientially and theoretically. Links will be made between two differrent traditions that seek to address human distress and suffering.
Mindfulness practices
Exploring the relevance of mindfulness based approaches to psychotherapy and counselling

Exploring relevance of mindfulness both personally and professionally
Application of mindfulness in one to one settings
The underlying attitudinal approach in the mindfulness approache.

Demonstrate an understaning of the relevance of minfullness based approaches in

Identify the personal and professional relevance of mindfulness based approaches
Describe the potential application of mindfulness in one to one therapy situations.
This course is for qualified therapist/counsellors
You will be able to listen to others and express yourself fluently in English. You will be able to reflect on your learning both individually in group discussions.
Both tutors have established personal mindfulness practices and both have taught the Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy/Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction programmes.
This will be a highly experiential course. You will participate in mindfulness practices led by the tutors.
There will be addititonal teaching of theory as well as pair work and small and whole group discussion.
There are no additional costs.

You will receive regular feedback from your tutor throughout the course, as and when appropriate. At the end of the course you and your tutor are asked to assess the progress you have made.
