What is the course about?

In therapeutic work we all have the potential to act exploitatively and that boundaries are the key to protecting our clients and us. This one-day workshop will consider core questions around the essential nature of boundaries and share ideas about setting and maintaining ethical boundaries to ensure that we are ‘fit for the job’.

Reflect on a range of core boundary issues
Clarify what supports safe practice
Consider putting measures in place that will strengthen your practice.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

The course is aimed at professionals working in the field as well as students about to work in a therapeutic setting. It is assumed that all learners appreciate the importance of ethical boundaries and are committed to the maintenance of safe practice.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

The course will be interactive and learners are encouraged to bring their experiences of client work and understanding of boundaries relevant to their particular or intended client population.
