Being in a minority on a counselling course may mean that you feel very alone when your views and experiences differ from the majority. This series of meetings aims to provide a safe space in which to share your experiences with others.

This series of meetings will offer students lots of opportunities to network with other students from similar cultural backgrounds, gain new perspectives and personal insights, in a supportive learning environment. You will be encouraged to share your experiences and reflect upon your own personal learning. The group will meet 4 times across a 5 month period and all concerns discussed within the group will remain confidential.
There is no set agenda for this course. Students will be encouraged to share their personal experiences and learn from others to gain new personal insights and support.

Students must currently be attending a counselling or psychotherapy training course.
The group is experiential and will include group discussion with some input on theory. The experiential nature of this group will require you to be willing to actively take part in group discussions and to use your own experiences as material to learn from.

You will receive regular feedback from your tutor throughout the course, as and when appropriate. At the end of the course you and your tutor are asked to assess the progress you have made.
