On this course we will examine the relationship between our body image and self esteem. The picture of our body which we hold in our mind is a reflection of the attitudes of and interactions with others. Our body image is elastic and open to change. The fashion industry and the media in general holds an unobtainable and ever changing standard over us, and in trying to attain this unreachable standard we are guaranteed to fail.
How are we to cope in a world with such rigid expectations? How do these attitudes and pressures affect our sense of self?
This course title should not be confused with 'body language' which has a differnet emphasis.
