have had some laughs along the way.
This course could be suitable for:
People working with older people.
People training to be counsellors and are interested in gaining insight and understanding of the ageing process and their own attitudes.
People with parents and/or dependents who are growing older.
However, the main emphasis will be aimed towards people over the age of 40 who are themselves realising that they are growing older. This course is about who we are not about others. No previous experience is necessary.
The day will be a mixture of creative play; writing and image work; small group and large group discussion; personal private space for meditation and visualisation. Students will be encouraged to share their own stories and experiences in a supportive setting. Part of the day will be about encouraging honesty, confidentiality and support. The tutor will encourage intger-generational discussion, should there be a wide age group present. The tutor will also be facilitative rather than this being thought of as a taught course.
No other costs are involved and handouts will be given to participants.
No.
You will receive regular feedback from your tutor throughout the course, as and when appropriate. At the end of the course you and your tutor are asked to assess the progress you have made. During times of small group discussion people will be encouraged to have a greater sense of their own progression. At the end of the day you will be encouraged to claim a greater sense of boldness. You will also have the opportunity to reflect on your learning at the end of the course and to identify future learning goals.
Please complete the evaluation form at the end of your course. These are monitored and help us to continually improve our courses.
