What is the course about?

This course is about exploring and practising Gestalt Two-chair work which can often be helpful when working with clients who struggle with inner conflicts such as self-esteem, identity issues or anxiety.

What topics will we cover?

Explore the significance of Gestalt Two-chair techniques
Theoretical concepts of Gestalt counselling
Dealing with inner conflicts
How to use Gestalt Two-chair techniques
Resolving inner conflicts and unfinished business.

By the end of this course you should be able to:

Identify key theoretical concepts underpinning Gestalt counselling
Identify some of your own inner conflicts
Engage in a conversation relating to personal inner conflicts
Practice using Gestalt two-chair techniques.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

The course is suitable for anyone new to or wishing to learn about the use of Gestalt Two-chair techniques and no specific knowledge or experience is required.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

This experiential workshop includes input on theory and group discussion. There will be individual, partner and small group work. The experiential nature of the course will require you to be willing to take part in exercises and discussions and to use your own experience as material to learn from.

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

No. Handouts will be provided during the course however please bring paper and pens.

Do I need to have an interview before I can enrol?

No.

What feedback will I get?

You will receive regular feedback from your tutor throughout the course, as and when appropriate. At the end of the course you and your tutor are asked to assess the progress you have made.

How will I be able to give my views on the course?

Please complete the evaluation form at the end of your course. These are monitored and help us to continually improve our courses.
