We all experience conditions such as nocturnal dreaming. hypnosis, or meditation. Altered states are far more common, especially in the form of emotional states, than is generally recognized, and can have strong effects on the way we see the world, our selves, and others, so an understanding of them is important to us all.
Sleep and dreams (including lucid dreaming): Why are we sleeping? Why are we dreaming? How does it feel to be aware of the fact that you dream while dreaming?
Hypnosis: What is the altered state of consciousness of hypnosis? Is it similar to sleeping? What could we use hypnosis for?
Meditation: What is meditation? What are the different meditation techniques? How could we use meditation in order to become more aware, calm, and balanced?
Drugs: In what way psychaedelic drugs might influence the brain?
