What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

No prior knowledge required. However, please note that this is not a therapeutic session and is not suitable for someone who is feeling very emotional.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

This is a participative training involving discussion, individual self-assessments, practical exercises and role play in pairs, groups and in plenary. The trainer reserves the right to take a flexible approach, responding to group and individual needs while meeting course objectives.

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

Please bring a pen and notebook with you.
The trainer will provide plenty of handouts to back up the course content and learning. No advance reading required.

Do I need to have an interview before I can enrol?

No.

What feedback will I get?

You will receive regular feedback from your tutor throughout the course, as and when appropriate. At the end of the course you and your tutor are asked to assess the progress you have made. You can expect your tutor to give you feedback both individually and through group discussion. There will also be opportunities to evaluate for yourself how you are progressing in discussion and through questionnaires and self-assessments. You will also receive feedback from participants on the course during practical exercises and role play. At the end of the course you will be given the opportunity to complete a record of your achievements which will be verified by your tutor.

How will I be able to give my views on the course?

Please complete the evaluation form at the end of your course. These are monitored and help us to continually improve our courses. The tutor will ask you about the value and learning derived from practical exercises and discussion from time to time. The tutor will also check how you feel at times during the course.
