No prior knowledge is required. This course is suitable if you are completely new to assertiveness work or as a refresher if you have done some training before. We ask that you come willing to participate in the discussions and practical exercises. You will need to speak and read English fluently. Please check if you are unsure of your level.
You will work individually, in pairs and groups while both learning the theory and practising assertiveness skills. There will be tutor presentations and handouts. As the course unfolds, the tutor will work flexibly to respond to the needs of the group while still meeting course objectives.
Please bring a notebook and pen. All other materials needed are provided.
No.
You will receive regular feedback from your tutor throughout the course, as and when appropriate. At the end of the course you and your tutor are asked to assess the progress you have made. There will also be opportunities to evaluate for yourself how you are progressing. You will also receive feedback from other participants on the course during exercises and role play. At the end of the course you will be given the opportunity to complete a record of your achievement which will be verified by your tutor.
Please complete the evaluation form at the end of your course. These are monitored and help us to continually improve our courses. During the course, your tutor will ask you about the value derived from practical exercises and discussions. Your views are essential to planning future courses.
