This course is about helping you to speak more confidently. You'll have the opportunity to meet other people who stammer and talk about stammering in a safe place. You'll learn ways to help you feel better about the way you speak.

By the end of the course you will be able to:

Share with the other students how you feel about stammering

Listen to others while they are speaking.
This course is for students with learning difficulties and who also stammer. You need to be able to participate in shared activities with some or no support, sustain concentration for at least short periods and show interest in the subject.

Yes. Before you can enrol on this course, you need to have an advisory interview with the relevant department. Without this the enrolment team will be unable to process your enrolment. Please contact the department to arrange your interview, or to find out about drop-in sessions.
You will receive regular feedback from your tutor throughout the course, as and when appropriate. At the end of the course you and your tutor are asked to assess the progress you have made. Through discussion and feedback from yourself and others including the tutor. In addition, your progress will be regularly assessed and monitored by your tutor who will provide informal, regular feedback throughout the course. At the end of your study programme you will be asked to self-assess your own progress and achievement against the course objectives above. The tutor will endorse your assessment which will be formally recorded on a standard form (the Statement of Learning).
Please complete the evaluation form at the end of your course. These are monitored and help us to continually improve our courses. You will be encouraged to give your views throughout the course.
