I took this course a few years ago and found the course to be truly excellent. I went on to a BA and wished the BA had been of the same calibre. The tutors and tuition is excellent,a great deal of information is provided and you are helped to develop creatively and artistically as well as developing skills, the course is intnsive. Certainly the 9 of us that went forward to the BA at John Cass were amongst the best prepared for the BA, it is considered to be one of the best foundation courses.

I was looking forward to attend this course and expected a lot of drawing and painting classes but in fact the approach used by this course tutors is different. First of all and possibly a main feature of the course is a requirement 'to open your mind', make your imagination to work, start thinking 'out of box'. In the same time there are sessions when the tutors give basics of art such as perspective, proportions, colours, etc. Classes are intensive and there is a lot of information and skills that the tutors are sharing with the students and they all are very supportive and attentive. The course content is not exactly what I've expected but I enjoy the program and feel that the course is very practical and efficient.
