Very challenging and very rewarding, really has changed my life. Tutors are unbelievably committed and ratio of tutors to students is fantastic. Core studies programme in particular was excellent. Course is very focused on getting people into uni - would have liked advice on setting up as an artist as well, but you can't have it all! It's taken every last bit of courage I had to complete this but I'm so glad I did.

I echo my statements made in teh review of part 1 of the course. It is excellently taught, you are encouraged to develop as an artist and to develop in your own direction as well as being taught necessary skills and given extensive support and a taught a basic background of art history. By many of thr tutpors at the university i progressed to, it was felt that the preparation and training provided by City Lit was of the highest calibre.

I enjoyed the core day groups and the support and variation they offered although occasionally there was too much noise which distracted from the work. Teaching of highest quality and commitment to students was total. Would have liked an end of course report related to the assessment criteria.

As someone who was interested in getting into university, this course was brilliantly structured. The help given with some dreaded technical issues such as UCAS is enormous. Most importantly, the actual teaching which, judging from experience, is of incredibly high standard.
Also noteworthy is the amazing student - teacher ratio, where at times I would get two separate tutorials in one day.

There is no doubt that I have learn a lot from this course; it was demanding in intensity and content and it made me push my boundaries. Plus: There are exceptional and dedicated tutors on this course, and you are well supported at the initial stages. Minus: The intake is large and it can feel as if you are part of production line. I chose my course carefully and think that the standard of teaching set by the City Lit is high. The one area to be improved is if some time could be spent preparing students on how to grapple with the practicalities being an artist: how to juggle time-management and economic limitations, as well as tools for sustaining your practice by balancing emotional engagement with continuing education-- because this is adult education

This course is an excellent opportunity to discover and experience different media and be hands-on. The set projects are well-thought and give the student the opportunity to be extremely creative and generate ideas.
And most importantly this course is about enjoying a 2 year journey in Art & Design.
Thanks to this foundation course I will go ahead with Design by doing a BA at Goldsmiths University next year.
