The course was exactly what I was hoping for. Excellent teacher, stimulating group discussions and gallery visits. A very enjoyable way to learn about decoding art works, the role of the artist etc. The split classroom/gallery format worked particularly well. Just a shame the final session was cancelled because of the snow.

As above; I learnt so much and met a great bunch of people in the class. The split between class work and gallery/museum visits was a good balance. The tutor was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour. She got the best out of everyone. I can highly recommend this course.

I found this course both stimulating and exciting. It managed to cover a large range of styles and genres of painting, whilst pausing to stop on particular works to bring them to life in an exciting way.

I received a gift voucher for a City Lit course as a birthday present! I looked on line for something that would take my fancy. I have a general interest in art but had never thought of taking it any further. The course appealed to me as it was at the weekend and didnt interfere with work and only lasted 3 weeks. I found the content just right and I loved the fact that half the sessions were classroom based and the other time spent at galleries. Our Tutor was great She valued all contributions in discussions and was extremely knowledgeable. I will definitely be enrolling for another course asap. Thank you City Lit for an excellent course!
