The tutor for this course obviously knew his subject inside out, but tried to present far to much of it in the time available. There wasn't really enough time for discussion, and I was left reeling from all the images, and confused as to what the difference between medieval and renaissance art really is.(I did miss one of the sessions, though, so that may be why). I couldn't help thinking that it might have been better to have concentrated on fewer key images or artists for each 2-hour session. Having said that, though, I do now feel ready to tackle one of the recommended books on the subject.

I thought the course content was very good and the lecturer, excellent. His delivery and visual aids were good and the way he involved the audience, by asking questions, increased the enjoyment of the course.

I enjoyed this course because it helped me to have a greater understanding of this period of art. The tutor was well prepared, very informative but also encouraged us all to think and make suggestions and also see the connections between periods. The course cover a wide period in a short space of time but I do feel I have a greater understanding now.

The course was well prepared and students were involved all the time. We were always encouraged even when answers were not correct. The content was interesting and covered the necessary information we needed to know. The tutor was helpful and made us all welcome given we had widely different experience and knowledge.
