This course is very enjoyable. It is suitable for beginners to art history, but is also of interest to those who already have some knowledge of art from this period. Highly recommended!

Learn about the radical development of art and the introduction of photography in Paris during the second half of the 19th century. Compare this to what was happening in Victorian England at the same time. Expand your mind and learn to intepret the meanings, symbolism, references in these paintings and how they reflected the history of that period. Recognise the different painting techniques and use of colour and light and form. This course is hugely informative and entertaining.
