Having completed an introduction to the History of Art over 3 days in July, I was looking forward to going into the lives of a few artists in greater depth for this course. The Romantics fascinated me for its diversity and individualism and the course tutor explained clearly the idea of the sublime so necessary to the understanding of Turner. I loved learning about Delacroix particulary in Morocco, Goya, Blake and Casper Friedrich. I thought that I would find the background reading quite difficult especially the philosophy but it does help to persevere with it especially William Vaughan's 'Romanticism and Art'.
