we learnt how to deal with the many problems that a bookbinder encounters but from the view of a used book. This helps to understand which parts of a book are most vulnerable. also learnt much about technical wyas of dealing with paper and leather that have degraded through age or wear.

Restoration and conservation are very complex areas of book binding and this course, together with excellant handouts, begins to unpack the complexities. there are many skills to master all reasonable results can be acheived as one learns.
