This was my first experience of throwing pots. The tutor started each session by taking us through the techniques we were going to try out that week before we were given time to practice on our own with help where we wanted. All in all - was great!!

Despite the title throwing and decoration, this course offers very little in the way of decoration advice. After a brief and chaotic introduction to slips, oxides and traditional glazes, you're pretty much on your own. Plenty of demonstrations on throwing, though.

I thought that this course was really good, although I did struggle a bit in the first few weeks as I'm left handed and did not realise until week three that the wheel can be altered to suit a left handed thrower. Once I had resolved this and had some input from the teacher I started to really improve. The teacher was very good and very enthuastic. I was particually impressed as she was standing in for someone who was on sick leave. I would definitely recommend this course and throughly enjoyed it.
