We will use the application Photoshop to prepare images and the professional application After Effects to animate the sequences.
Session 1: Preparing images in Photoshop. Using selections and creating multi layered images.
Session 2: Importing images into After Effects and animating transformations in 2D
Session 3: Importing multi layered compositions into After effects and animating layers in 3D
Session 4: Working with nested compositions and effects.
Session 5: Animating virtual cameras
Session 6: Creating storyboards for sequences
Session 7 to 9: Individual assistance on personal projects
Session 10: rendering quicktime movies, Viewing work, burning DVD’s.
- Prepare images in photoshop for use in After effects
- Import images into After Effects and animate transformations in 2D
- Understand the use of keyframes and layers
- Animate transformations in 3D
- Animate cameras
- Create storyboards of animated sequences which can be realized in After effects.
This is an introductory course. You do not need to have experience in animation or After Effects though you are expected to have had basic experience in using a computer.
You should be able to follow simple written and verbal instructions, demonstrations, hand-outs and health and safety information, and will be invited to take part in group discussion. You should be able to use numbers and be able to do simple measurements and calculations.
Please look at the rest of the course outline carefully to decide if you may benefit from support in your English and Maths skills to help you to take part fully in this class.
