Learn how to use Flash to animate drawn and cut out characters. Enjoy developing your animation skills and creating short witty animated sequences. No previous experience necessary.
Session 1: Viewing and discussing examples of animation. Introduction to the drawing tools of Flash. Introduction to creating keyframes. Exercise in drawn, frame-by-frame animation using keyframes and 'onion skinning'. Introduction to using layers.
Session 2: Introduction to preparing images in Photoshop, importing images to Flash and 'motion tweening' cut-out images. Exercises combining tweening and frame-by-frame animation in a multi-layered animation.
Session 3: Introduction to creating animated symbols and making those symbols follow a path.
Session 4: Introduction to creating new scenes and applying sound effects.

This is an introductory course.
You should be able to follow simple written and verbal instructions to support demonstrations, hand-outs and for health and safety information, and will be invited to take part in group discussion. You should be able to use numbers and be able to do simple measurements and calculations.
