I did the course and hugely enjoyed it. Started with very little previous experience and took away so much from this course. The tutor was superb - enthusiastic, inspirational and full of great ideas. She made every Saturday great fun. Brilliant course, couldn't recommend it more.

Very good for beginners, the teacher was really encouraging and I learnt alot and felt that I finished the course with more skills and a better understanding of the language of drawing! I would really recommend this for a beginner.

I loved this course which was the first drawing I had done since school many, many years ago. Thought I'd add my 2 cents because I'd hate anyone to be turned off by the 'did little to inspire confidence review' . Unlike that experience our teacher did every thing possible to ensure that each & every student had the support they needed, no one felt that they were outclassed and no one that it wasn't challenging enough. Before the course had finished I'd already signed up to another and am now scouring the calendar for more. If you want to test the waters, then plunge in here!

I did this course with [tutor's name] on Friday evenings - unfortunately I was unable to attend the last 2 sessions which was terribly disappointing. I understand each tutor teaches this particular course in a different manner so I can only speak of [my tutor]; he was absolutely excellent, always on time, knowledgeable, patient and really enthusiastic. Couldn't have asked for a better teacher.

I was hoping to gain confidence with drawing but the course seems more suited to already confident drawers, which contradicted the description. Also the class size meant the room was very crowded and individual attention limited. There was an asumption that numbers would reduce because people always drop out; I wonder why?

A thourough grounding in basic principles of drawing, yet with enormous emphasis on individual needs and abilities. Top class tuition, excellent resources, creative and supportive learning environment.

Loved the couse. The tutor was extremely well organised and inspirational. Gained enormous confidence to carry on drawing at home and take things in different directions. Cannot recommend it enough.

I had no precious experience in drawing and found the structured nature of this course exactly what I wanted. The teaching and learning were designed to make everyone experience progress. It was wonderful at the end of each lesson and at the end of the course to look at how much had been learnt and the improvement in everybody's work. It's given me the incentive to keep on trying and learning how to improve.

I came to the class without an Art qualification or any particular expectations. We started work with graphite pencil and charcoal and using line, and over the weeks looked at tone, perspective and finally colour. We did some still life and went to the British Museum to draw objects which we later used as the basis for enlarging in the studio. We used a range of pastels by the end of the course. I found the course to be a useful introduction to a range of drawing approaches. I didn't find it easy at all times but it did build my confidence. The teaching was open, constructive, gave enough detail to allow you to explore on your own and offered constructive criticism of work you produced.
