We will begin by looking at and utilizing fundamental drawing systems as a means to understanding objects and shapes. These ideas and concepts will then be developed into one and two point perspective models, with the final emphasis being the application to observed objects and environment.
A series of projects utilizing key projection systems such as orthographic, isometric, axonometric, one and two-point perspective, parallel and oblique perspective. Application of concepts and ideas.
Explore the basic theoretical principals behind perspective and other drawing systems
Apply principals of various drawing systems while working from observation
Exploit various drawing systems using different drawing media and techniques
Use drawing systems creatively to visualise imagined and real objects and environments.
All abilities are welcome although experience of basic drawing would be useful.
You should be able to follow simple written and verbal instructions to support demonstrations, hand-outs and for health and safety information, and will be invited to take part in group discussion. You should be able to use numbers and be able to do simple measurements and calculations.
Please look at the rest of the course outline carefully to decide if you may benefit from support in your English and Maths skills to help you to take part fully in this class.
Handouts and demonstrations and by working individually with a mixture of practical exercises, one to one guidance, group tutoring and informal group discussion.
