I consider myself to be someone who can't draw . I felt like I wanted to do a short course in something creative without any particular aim other than to interact and learn something creative.
the course was 3 saturdays in a row, and it started off with drawing a table , then a vase on a table and bringing other aspects and angles into the picture learning about shadow and light and the effects using different types of pencils and chalks. the 2nd week was more detailed and the 3rd week was a life model which was exciting and scary! but it was enjoyable . the only thing I thought that wasn't so good was that the day 10:30am to 4:30pm was a bit long for me. I found it a bit intense drawing all day as I felt that my skills weren't sufficient enough. The group were of mixed abilities . Some people seemed to be able to draw fine. If I can do it anyone can. I have only really doodled and now feel with a bit more practice I could develop this skill further. I am planning on doing another course in September.

This course gave me the tools to begin to draw, which as an absolute beginner was all I had hoped for from the course.
The teaching was clear and supportive and I would recommend the course.

This is an excellent course to get you started in drawing, or to refresh your skills if you are out of practice. The course gives a general overview of different drawing techniques, and leads on well to many other art and design courses at City Lit.
