This course is fantastic for anyone interested in Children's Illustration. The Tutor is a published Children's Illustrator and makes the subject come alive and also good fun. I produced more work in 10 weeks than would have done in a long time. [The tutor] is very inspiring. I made lots of like minded friends and at the end we all put on a little exhibition to showcase our work and people come to view it. You will learn all sorts of useful tips and advice on how to get on as an illustrator, whatever your background. I highly recommend it, Worth every penny for the tution alone.

Can't recommend this course highly enough. The teaching is superb, and the atmosphere is open and encouraging. For someone like myself who likes to draw but has no other links to the creative industry (professional or otherwise), this course really helped to demystify the process of working up a finished artwork/spread or getting into print. Our tutor gave honest and valuable insights into the business, and gave each of us 1:1 help in developing our own styles and characters.

My only complaint was that the course was so short, but isn't that always the case with the things that you enjoy? I thought that there was a good balance of theory to practical. The tutor couldn't have been better, there were enough people taking the course for it to have a variety of styles, ideas and questions without there being too many for the lesson to get jammed up with everyone needing attention. I learned enough to make me feel that it was worth it but think that I would have benefited from it being at least half as long again in order to exploit it to the full.

I did this course last year and it was so good I tried to get on it again - but it was all booked up. The teaching is inspiring, and we're not just learning practical skills, but getting a great insight into the world of children's books and publishing. I only wish the course lasted a year, not a term.

I am thoroughly enjoying the Children’s Book Illustration course. It is better than I anticipated. The tutoring is excellent and I am learning a great deal. The projects are interesting. You have the freedom to experiment with media and play with different ideas. I am looking forward to having complete the course with finished designs..
I am learning to turn my drawings into illustrations in such a short space of time. It is good to be in a group of illustrators where you can meet and learn from each other. I think this course is beneficial to anyone interested in illustration, whether you are doing the course for fun, planning your career as an illustrator or already are an illustrator.
Advice to new students is to use your time productively because the more time you spend working in the classroom and on homework the more you will learn and benefit. For people with less free time you can still gain all the knowledge and always work on projects when you can.
The course provides as little or as much work as you want it to.
