A chance to practice and perfect finishing techniques in jewellery making. Soldering exercises will be followed by demonstrations of filing, emery papering and polishing. You can bring your own pieces if desired. This is an intermediate ability course and previous experience is required. Basic materials included.

A basic knowledge of jewellery making preferable, for instance previous attendance of a course 15 hours or more in length.
You should be able to follow simple written and verbal instructions to support demonstrations, hand-outs and for health and safety information, and will be invited to take part in group discussion. You should be able to use numbers and be able to do simple measurements and calculations.
Please look at the rest of the course outline carefully to decide if you may benefit from support in your English and Maths skills to help you to take part fully in this class.
This is a structured course consisting of tutor-led demonstrations with relevant handouts followed by individual and group tuition. There will be an emphasis on improving technique and skill.
Please bring an apron and sketch book and pencil. Closed-toe shoes must be worn in the workshop.

You will receive regular feedback from your tutor throughout the course, as and when appropriate. At the end of the course you and your tutor are asked to assess the progress you have made.
