Over the period of one academic year you will work through a series of work-based seminars facilitated by peers and experts in the field. You will have the opportunity to submit your work for critical discussion, led by a team of practising artists and tutors. You will receive individual tutorials and mentoring, critical investigation and site visits. There will also be a programme of guided on-line discussion with your peer group. *PLEASE NOTE - all interviews have taken place and all spaces have been offered.

Over the period of one academic year, you will develop your own artwork and attend a series of work-based seminars facilitated by members of the tutor team. You will have the opportunity to submit your work for critical discussion, receive personal tutorials and participate in guided on-line discussion.
Over the year, you will:
- develop and sustain a programme of personal or collaborative fine art practice.
- develop critical understanding of personal work, and contribute to a discussion forum to discuss, evaluate and support the work created by others, within a peer group
- create and develop an on-line portfolio, which may form the basis of discussion and interchange, and act as a preparation for submissions and applications.
- use the programme to prepare, with mentoring and practical guidance, for submission to an exhibition, an art-related project or a higher level course.

- develop and sustain personal work
- feel increadingly adept at assessing your progress and results
- relate your work to various aspects of contemporary fine art practice and participate confidently in ciritcal disucssion
- explore a possible context for your work and make a relevant application/submission as required
- present an on-line portfolio and a personal approach to representing your work.
You will have completed a higher level course, such as the foundation course, the City Lit fine art course, the City Lit sculpture course or equivalent, and you will be interested in identifying personal goals and contexts for your artwork.
You will be expected to develop your personal practice outside of seminar sessions and personal tutorial hours.
You will be expected to post images for discussion and contribute to a discussion forum outside set hours.
If you do not have access to a computer, you will be able to arrange access to a PC at City Lit, in the supported learning centre.
Yes. Before you can enrol on this course, you need to have an advisory interview with the relevant department. Without this the enrolment team will be unable to process your enrolment. Please contact the department to arrange your interview, or to find out about drop-in sessions. *PLEASE NOTE - all interviews have taken place and all spaces have been offered.
You will receive regular feedback from your tutor throughout the course, as and when appropriate. At the end of the course you and your tutor are asked to assess the progress you have made.
