The course starts from a basic level and deals with all the fundamentals of art making: contrast, composition and colour balance, and uses these in using watercolour. The approach is thorough which I found to be benefical for any later work I would be doing within our outside the course.

As tonal contrast, composition and colour balance apply to basically every medium you could work in, I also found it a useful general start of any drawing or painting activity. A good introduction indeed!

Having said this, it means that there is limited space to explore your own ambitions on what you wish to paint and how, however once you've got the basics right I feel ready for the jump into the deep.
