Students will be led through a series of colour and mood studies in which a variety of basic techniques will be taught. Techniques include layering colour, masking out areas, creating texture, wet on wet and wet on dry. These studies aim to enable you to create rich tonal & textural effects in watercolour.
The “still-life” theme is the starting point for this 5-week course.
- layer colours to create contrasts
- apply masking-out techniques appropriately
- investigate textural effects
- explore wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry methods.
This course is intended for beginners to watercolour; some drawing experience could be helpful, but is not essential.
