Make use of any of the facilities in the digital arts studio to practise what you've learnt. Booking is not usually required but check first to confirm a space. No tuition is given but some manuals and self-teaching texts are available. There is a technician available to ensure that equipment is working correctly. The studio has Apple Mac computers with Adobe Creative Suite, Apple Final Cut Studio, Roxio Toast, Apple iMovie and Microsoft Office installed. There is a high-quality A4 and A3 inkjet printer and a laserjet printer for student use. You can also use the studio’s camcorders within the studio. Pay in blocks of 4 sessions.
This is not a taught course. You will be able to use the facilities to progress in your individual work.
This is not a taught course. By using the facilities in the digital arts studio you will be able to progress with individual digital projects.
You are expected to be able to safely and correctly operate any equipment you use in the Digital Arts Studio. An understanding of Apple Mac computers is beneficial if you would like to use the computer equipment. An understanding of using printers is essential if you would like to use the studio printers. You should be able to follow simple written and verbal instructions, hand-outs and health and safety information. You should be able to use numbers and be able to do simple measurements and calculations.
You will be expected to work independently during Open Access. The sessions are unsupported and there is no instruction from a tutor. There is a technician on hand to ensure the studio runs efficiently.
There is a small charge for using the in-room printers, this is to cover the cost of paper and ink. Your first few prints are free, and we only charge when you print many pages. Ask the technician during the session for further information.
No.
You will receive regular feedback from your tutor throughout the course, as and when appropriate. At the end of the course you and your tutor are asked to assess the progress you have made.
Please complete the evaluation form at the end of your course. These are monitored and help us to continually improve our courses.
