Over the period of one academic year you will work through a series of work-based seminars facilitated by peers and experts in the field. You will have the opportunity to submit your work for critical discussion, led by a team of practising artists and tutors. You will receive individual tutorials and mentoring, critical investigation and site visits. Change your career! Gain the knowledge, confidence and expertise to become a qualified yoga teacher to plan, prepare and teach a yoga course and study the philosophy of yoga. It is strongly recommended that you complete the ‘Teaching exercise and fitness: CYQ level 2’, particularly if you have no prior knowledge of anatomy and physiology. 28 weekend sessions plus one intensive week in July and exam sessions. Did you know that France has a Celtic language too? Breton is the sister language to Welsh and the closest language to Cornish, and its culture has blossomed since the 60s. We will explore the hidden Breton culture, far removed from the tourist pastiche of coiffes and crepes.

Explore movement, voice and acting skills on this accredited course. You will have completed at least one introductory and one intermediate course in acting either at the City Lit or elsewhere, or have comparable experience. Regular attendance is essential and you must be 19 years or over. Successful participants are awarded a credit certificate from Open College Network.
Full day group auditions are held in July each year for which you will be required to demonstrate your speaking and listening skills. You need to have memorised an audition piece of no longer than 2 minutes from a modern play. Your ability to read and interpret text, to write clear and accurate short pieces of information on the application form and show evidence of working successfully in a collaborative context will also form part of the audition process. Auditions for 2011-12 will be held in week beginning Monday 25th July 2011 from 10am to 5pm. There is a non-returnable £10 audition fee and you must provide 2 passport-sized photographs. Course dates below include tutorials. In addition there is a compulsory induction session on Saturday 10th September 2011 (2-4.30pm) and a Sharing Practice Day on Saturday 7th January 2012 (10am-2pm). The programme manager is Vernon Thompson.
