Refunds

We will refund your fees provided your written request is received at least three weeks before the course starts. You will receive a refund of the course fee, less an administration fee. The fee is 20%, with a minimum charge of £10 per refunded course, covering administration costs and the loss of potential income to City Lit.  If exam fees are included in the course fees, these are non-refundable.

How can I request a refund?

  • Fax your request to 020 7492 2735 
  • Forward your written request to: Refund Requests, City Lit, Keeley Street, WC2B 4BA.
If you are unable to request your refund in writing, please contact us by ringing 0207 492 2565 or visit the enrolment counter. 


When and how will I receive my refund?
  • We will endeavour to refund all students within 2-3 weeks.
  • We will refund via the same method in which you originally paid.  However, if you paid by cash, we will refund you by cheque. 
  • We will also send you a refund receipt in the post as confirmation of your refund. 

We are only able to grant refunds which are in accordance with our refund policy. You can request the full refund policy at the enrolment counter, Department Enquiry Desk or the Supported Learning Centre.

This does not affect your statutory rights.

If you are made redundant
With City Lit's new initiative, you can apply for a refund if you are made redundant and wish to leave your course. Read more here.

What if your course is cancelled?
Very few courses at City Lit are cancelled. If we have to cancel a course and cannot offer a suitable alternative you will receive a full refund and a £5 shopping voucher as compensation for your disappointment.

Transfers
Due to financial considerations, we regret that we are unable to transfer students between courses and enrolments cannot be transferred between students.
