» Find another course in Music» Search all coursesThe course is an opportunity to get to know the players of the BBC Symphony Orchestra and the repertoire for its 2011-12 season, through a combination of musicians' visits and lectures about the featured works.
We will explore a wide range of repertoire selected from the repertoire programmed for the BBCSO season as well as enjoying player visits. These will include various ensembles, from a string quartet and a viola ensemble to a trumpet-and-piano duo.

For anyone who loves classical music, or who wants to learn something about it.You will need to follow written and verbal instructions in English, engage in class discussions and take notes in English.
By the organiser, David Nice, a well-known musicologist, and through the demonstrations given by the players of their chosen instruments.
Concert tickets will be available at half price to all students. You are not obliged to buy tickets, but please be aware that going to concerts, and discussing them beforehand and afterwards, is an essential part of the course.
