You will learn digital camera terminology and technique, and how it changes your images. Practical exercises, theory, discussion, and analysis of photos during the classes will help you to develop your theme and style, and you will work on photojournalistic projects in your own time.

This course is for beginners of the specialism of Photojournalism. You will be expected to have an understanding of the basic functions of your digital SLR camera.
You should be able to follow simple written and verbal instructions, demonstrations, hand-outs and health and safety information, and will be invited to take part in group discussion. You should be able to use numbers and be able to do simple measurements and calculations.

You will receive regular feedback from your tutor throughout the course, as and when appropriate. At the end of the course you and your tutor are asked to assess the progress you have made. You will have the chance to bring in your photos each week for analysis and group discussion.
