Tutor nominated for lifetime achievement award

City Lit tutor Carolyn Cheasman (pictured left), who has helped hundreds of people to manage their stammer on unique speech therapy courses, has been shortlisted for a STAR award in the Lifetime Achievement category.
The STAR Awards, run by QIA, the government’s Quality Improvement Agency, recognise and reward the unsung heroes of the further education system who have made a difference to the quality of learning that millions of people across England receive everyday.
Colleague Rachel Everard said, “In her 30 years at City Lit Carolyn has kept the speech therapy department at the cutting-edge of adult stammering therapy, by giving papers at international conferences, contributing to publications and introducing new methods of working. She’s an inspiration.”
