Professional acting diploma (two year)

A two year intensive acting course for those wishing to progress from vocational study to a professional career in the arts. A full time course over 4 days from Monday to Thursday leaving 3 days in the week for further study and/or work.
You will work with industry directors, teachers, agents and casting directors preparing you for the industry. You will receive individual mentoring and work within a tight collaborative unit. This will expand your creativity, confidence, skill and courage and will lead to a focused understanding of both collective and personal artistic development.
There is a focus on performance coupled with rigorous methodological grounding. The second year acts as a self contained company continuing classes while performing both internally and in external venues. Please see course brochure or go online for more course details. You will be entitled to a Student Equity card and be able to enter the professional Spotlight directory and access its services. Upon graduation you will have your own screen show-reel, audio reel and have performed in an agents/CD showcase.
Each student will leave having developed their own voices as creative artists plus created a comprehensive business plan in order to be better equipped to step into the industry.
Entry by audition:
If you are 19 and over and have completed the Access course at City Lit or the equivalent 2 year experience elsewhere, or a working or returning artist wishing to hone skills and achieve greater exposure you are eligible.
Please prepare a song and a two minute modern and classical monologue and bring two passport sized photographs.
Please ring the Drama Dance Speech Department on 020 74922542 as soon as possible for further details and to book your audition - auditioning now and throughout August.
