A broad syllabus which teaches the elements of music at an advanced level including music theory, aural, keyboard harmony skills, performance, composition, music analysis. This course is taught in combination with the access course. Please note that places are limited. Level 3 will be taught (in combination with the access course) on Tuesdays from 10.00 to 15.30 and on Wednesdays from 09.45 to 15.30. Auditions take place in July and September on a 'first come first served basis'. On this one-year programme, those at an advanced level in music can explore elements of music, general musicianship, improvisation, composition and performance. Regular attendance is necessary. Accredited by the Open College Network. Auditions take place on Tuesday 12th July 2011 at 9:45am prompt for registration and Wednesday 7th and 14th September 2011 at 10am prompt.

For students who have completed a music foundation course at City Lit or elsewhere, or those who have equivalent training/experience. Units in: theory, aural, keyboard harmony, music analysis, performance, composition and Sibelius software. It takes place on Mondays 10.00 to 15.00, Tuesdays 10.00 to 15.30 and Wednesdays 09.45 to 15.30. Auditions and theory tests take place in July and September on a first-come-first-served basis. This is a one-year course, accredited by the Open College Network. You will attend several modules which include elements of music, general musicianship, improvisation, composition and performance. Regular attendance to all classes is necessary. Auditions take place on Wednesday 11th July 2012 at 9:45am and also on Wednesday 12th September 2012 at 9.45am. Please be prepared to stay all morning for tests.

A broad introduction to all elements of music at beginner level including music theory, aural, basic keyboard skills, performance, composition, music analysis and music technology. Music foundation level 1 runs on Mondays 10.00 to 16.00 for all three terms but during term 2 there are also classes on Wednesdays from 10.00 to 13.00. Auditions take place in July and September on a first come first served basis. On this one-year programme, beginners in music will explore elements of music, general musicianship, improvisation, composition and performance. Regular attendance is necessary. Accredited by the Open College Network. Auditions take place on Monday 9th July 2012 at 10am and Monday 10th September 2012 at 10am and again at 2pm. Please be prompt as tests will start on time and be prepared to stay for a few hours.
