THERE ARE NO LONGER SPACES ON THE CERTIFICATE COURSES COMMENCING IN SEPTEMBER 2014. THE APPLICATION PROCEDURE FOR CERTIFICATE COURSES BEGINNING IN SEPTEMBER 2015 WILL BEGIN IN APRIL 2015 - please see www.bit.ly/counsellinglevel3 for more details.


Weekly sessions run from 17:30 – 21:30 every Thursday, plus occasional weekend sessions (approximately once per term).

If you are aged 24 or over at the start of the course you can now apply for a government loan to help cover the costs. The course cost is £1221 which you can finance with a mix of loan and upfront fees, with a minimum upfront fee of £921 payable. Or if you are on certain benefits the course cost is £892 and a minimum upfront fee of £429. If aged under 24 then you’ll pay the full or conc fee listed below depending on your circumstances. If you think you will experience difficulties paying the upfront fee, you can talk to our IAG team who will advise you on instalment plans and bursaries. Extend your use of counselling skills and personal development in this highly experiential course. You will need to have completed at least 70 per cent of a 30 hour introductory course within the last three years and evidence this with your certificate of attendance on the first day. Counselling: an introduction

Enhance your personal skills and take your first step in counselling training. Courses are mainly experiential, underpinned by the theory of the person centred approach (PCA). Other models are also covered for comparison. Bring an open mind and be prepared to share with and learn from others. You will need to speak English fluently. Please note that students who do not attend at least one of the first two sessions will forfeit their place and lose their fee. This course is exempt from our standard refund policy. This two year course qualifies you to practise as a counsellor. You will need to have completed a level 3 certificate in counselling skills course within the last three years. Applications close in May for each September start.
