What is the course about?
We will explore some of the significant and exciting discoveries made by archaeologists in Southwark which have led to a greater understanding of the past of this vibrant area.
This is a live online course. You will need:
- Internet connection. The classes work best with Chrome.
- A computer with microphone and camera is best (e.g. a PC/laptop/iMac/MacBook), or a tablet/iPad/smart phone/iPhone if you don't have a computer.

What will we cover?
The nature of archaeological evidence
An outline of Southwark’s history as revealed by the archaeology
A focus on sites in the north of the borough including stunning Roman discoveries, the internationally significant Rose Theatre and other Bankside entertainments, and late medieval cemetery sites.
