What is the course about?

Continue learning to translate the Bible from Hebrew with confidence, understanding what translations are unable to convey.

This is a live online course. You will need:
- Internet connection. The classes work best with Chrome.
- A computer with microphone and camera is best (e.g. a PC/laptop/iMac/MacBook), or a tablet/iPad/smart phone/iPhone if you don't have a computer.
- Earphones/headphones/speakers.
We will contact you with joining instructions before your course starts.

What will we cover?

Pause, polel, polal, hitpolel and geminate verbs, We will read Ruth and Elijah.

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

translate more fluently, with greater knowledge of grammar and vocabulary.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

This is an intermediate course and requires Biblical Hebrew 1 and Level 2, Module 1 & 2 or equivalent. As this course is taught in English, please read the outline carefully to decide if you may benefit from support with your English skills to help you take part fully in this class.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

Students will be expected to read and translate in class, to do some exercises during the week and to learn vocabulary each week.

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

Pen, paper and the textbook (The First Hebrew Primer Third Edition: The Adult Beginners Path to Biblical Hebrew by Simon Resnikoff and Motzkin, published by EKS, California. The textbook costs £29.50 from the shop and can also be ordered from them via amazon.co.uk at £32.50 plus postage.
