What is City Lit Expanded Experimental Film?
City Lit Expanded Experimental Film is an immersive year-long course designed to facilitate and advance personal filmmaking projects.
You will develop an understanding of contemporary experimental filmmaking by introduction to the evolution of experimental film aesthetics and by examination of the work of key international film artists. The course encourages an expanded approach, incorporating engagement with interdisciplinary fields including performance, animation, installation, and sound. Practical sessions include animation, chroma key compositing, projection mapping and sound recording and will utilise both digital and analogue capture methods.
You will be encouraged to push boundaries, explore alternative or unconventional processes, to expand the way they perceive and experience the world.
Via contextual study, workshop engagement and personal tutorials you will gain the necessary skills to create innovative and challenging artworks which will be presented at the end of year screening.
