Basil Pain Memorial Bursary

Story added 5th Sep 2016

The Music Department is delighted to announce that the Basil Pain Memorial Bursary for advanced piano students will be available again in 2016/17, thanks to the generosity of Basil’s family.

Basil studied at City Lit from the late 1940s until 2014, when he retired from his piano and Spanish classes. In recognition of his dedication to lifelong learning, the Memorial Bursary will assist advanced piano students experiencing financial difficulties to continue their studies through one of our high level courses (Piano: advanced workshop or Piano repertoire). The bursary covers the concession fee for two students per year and is available to both continuing and new City Lit students.
