Is the BTEC Higher National Certificate in Interior Design the course for me?

Are you looking for a career in interior design and architecture? Our exciting, new HNC in Interior Design course is designed as a pathway into interior design and will provide you with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in a competitive industry.

This year-long course requires you to attend classes one and a half days a week and also engage in additional weekly online tutorials.  

What will I learn?

The course consists of a series of projects designed to develop your creativity and build on existing design skills. These projects will give you the opportunity to utilise industry-recognised technology and your own creative skills to create stimulating and innovative environments.

•Contextual studies

•Techniques and processes

•3D practices

•Computer Aided Design (CAD)

•Professional development

Taught by established practitioners and tutors, the HNC course will equip you to meet the increasing demand for well-trained designers. You will develop strong design skills and sound technical and managerial knowledge that will not only prepare you for future study but also for a successful career. 

How will I learn?

You will learn through formal teaching and demonstrations, hands on practical work, lectures, seminars, discussions and group work. You will also benefit from visits to galleries and exhibitions in and around London, along with the opportunity to meet designers and those working in industry. 

What do I need to gain a place?

You are required to have GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4 and above or IELTS Reading and Writing 5.5.

What can I do after the course?

On completion of the course, you will be ready for the second year of a relevant degree programme or entry-level employment.
